Aug. 29th, 2003 04:13 pmOne of my biggest pet peeves are when objects sudden fail to work as they are expected to. It drives me completely batty. Case in point: I'm adding a hard drive bay back into a computer tower at work. You just line up the screws and tighten it in.
Except this one doesn't line up. Nothing about it seems different than the eight other bay's I installed today. Yet this one Just. Won't. Fit.
Situations like this annoy me to the core. It's like the universe suddenly saying. Oh, those universal constants? They just aren't anymore. Everything you know is wrong. Suck it.
With only a slightly amount of muttering, the right tools (I heart 12" long magnetic screwdrivers), and liberal amounts of force, the bay is now where it belongs. My blood pressure is slowly returning to normal levels. Soon I will join our manager and the rest of the help desk team in shooting some pesky German in Medal of Honor. A good a way as any to start this Labor Day weekend out.
