Kicking Ass and Dulcet Tones

Today we kicked more butt at work than we did yesterday, and we kicked quite a bit then too.
The bad news is, my assignment isn't for two weeks, it ends on Wednesday.
The good news is, they want me to come back in for an extra day on Thursday. I guess I made a good impression, and that's what I'm all about. One week will lead to a month somewhere else, and maybe even a temp to permanent position. *crosses fingers*

While we were waiting for backups to complete tonight , we were kicking around ideas of careers that don't involve computers. I mentioned some of my interests (painting, playing saxophone). Derrek (an old salt of a temp) suggested looking at graphic art positions or searching the Phoenix and auditioning for a band. I have no experience in graphic arts, but it could be something worth looking into as far as taking classes go. I finally have some new reeds, so perhaps bringing the saxophone down from the attic would be worth it. Shaking the rust off, playing scales, working on my fingering... heh... I heard someone playing the saxophone in the T on my way to work. Such beautiful sweet sounds he made. Fifteen years ago, I was making those same beautiful sweet sounds.

Cross post

I'm in the kitchen of an unfamiliar house, cleaning up the glasses. Every glass gets filled with water, to rinse out what's inside. I think Eeyrg is helping me with the cleaning. As we're nearing the end, I begin singing Live Forever by Oasis. Then Atalanta starts belting out the chorus, and the rest of the room quickly follows (Frederic, Dirtyknees, and several others) Everyone sings along to the final falsetto chorus, when the rooms erupts in semi-embarrassed, drunken laughter. I leave the room, my washing duties complete, to sporadic applause. SilentQ walks down the stairs, pulls me aside, kisses me on the cheek and says "Thank you."

I don't even know if any of the above like Oasis, but that's why dreams are wacky that way.
