Dec. 22nd, 2002

The big move is about ready to start.
Had I know that I would suffer from insomnia, I would have stayed at the party later. Was it 4 when I finally went to bed? My memory is foggy on that subject.
Today should consist of: watching the Firefily pilot, getting videotapes for my big taping project (it's a secret!), painting, and food.
Oh. And the big move. Which will begin... now.
Last night was spent in the company of friends, and even though I had to fight through a major food coma, I made sure my (and Heatray's) presence was felt.

Today I did'nt quite accomplish everything I wanted to, but I accomplished a lot. The big move is now finished, both my room and my painting table look considerably different. The Firefly pilot remains unwatched and on Tivo, along with the last (sob) two episodes. The big taping project is underway! I didn't do any painting, but I may finish a few bases and trays before I go to bed. I glued a few models together, bought a storage cabinet at Home Depot (the kind you hold screws in) for all my bits and pieces, and cleared everything out of my assorted boxes.

I also arranged my old checks in numerical order. I am so anal-compulsive it kills me. I tried to leave them unsorted, but I couldn't do it. A slave to order, I am. So exciting.

The holiday season approaches. A time of happiness and melencholy. The melencholy has gone on for a while, ever since the whole unemployment started. There have been many bright moments of happiness, but in between them the background noise sounds like ghosts in an old house, or a depressing musical album. I've worked at fixing things, but I've only picked away at the problems. Today I took a firmer step towards fixing things. But I may have to ride the year out, wait for 2002 to end and start symbolically on the New Year. When the time is right, I'll know.
