Before you die...
Oct. 21st, 2002 02:25 pm... you see the Ring. According to the movie, I have five days left before I die a particularly hideous death. However, I have a little out. I saw the movie that this was based on : a Japanese film of the same name. That was over two months ago, and I still live.
But I don't sleep easily.
The Ring was a genuinely creepy movie: It wasn't violent or gory (though there were a few scenes that flashed by that scarred my brain). It did make excellent use of mood and setting to maintain a creepy vibe that lasted the entire movie. Lots of little points will make you jump. The final images will keep cropping up in your head late at night when you wake for no reason at all. It's especially bad when you wake up in the middle of the night, and your closet door is open, and you look outside your window at the full moon hanging in the sky like a ring of light... and your computer screen turns on... and I'll let you see the rest.
