Feeling... Mischievous?
Oct. 14th, 2002 08:49 pmTatiana stopped by my house, and we started of the evening with a viewing of Human Traffic and spaghetti for dinner. Carbs are important if you are going to dance all night.
We talked the entire way down, she played a few tracks of her music for me. She's sung vocals on some techno tracks produced by Gene Therapy. We made good time getting to Norwich, our destination was a country club of sorts. The rave itself was in a large tent (which looked really interesting on the inside) and a smaller dance area in a bar. The bar was all glass and ropes and pulleys, much like the inside of a ship.
The crowd was extremely small. I mean tiny. Like a good night at Ceremony small. But that didn't' stop us from having a good time. The high lights were a hard trance DJ in the bar, and an interesting progressive DJ around midnight. Tatiana joked that this rave was being held as my birthday present, and I was pleased that so many people came to a rave held in my honor.
And then the police came and shut everything down at 1:15, not even four hours after we arrived. Was it a noise violation? Were the promoters cutting their losses and closing up? It's all academic really. We passed our time on the way back with more good trance, and amusing conversations. The exhaustion came on us suddenly as we hit Rt. 2, and we were both suddenly glad that the evening had drawn to a close as early as it did.
So... Mischievous. Interesting new location, wicked small turnout, decent DJs, and a few extra surprises made for a very good evening out.
