After a slow start to the evening, I kicked off the evening with a block of Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Wumpscutt, and Noise Unit. Then came a break for breath, then plunging back out on the floor. Sprinkled between talking with Shannon, Quang, and my many friends from the VHS (who were out celebrating Jim's birthday and recovery from his knee injury) was lots of dancing both in the front and the back. I noticed several people dancing to Electronaut and it made me smile. Their live shows may be sub par, but VNV will still make you dance.* I don't know how I did it but the evening was winding down, and I HAD to hurl myself on the floor for Worlock. What do I hear next, but Consolidated? When's the last time you heard them at a club? So back I went, shifting to a low speed sholder popping groove to match the funky beats. And after that? Public Image Limited. I couldn't believe it. Out of nowhere a last adrenaline rush came on me, and I jumped around the floor as the final chorus swirled around and around. I thought the night was over, and that was it. But that Pig Face song came on. Yeah, you know the one. And I was spent. I said some goodbyes, dragged myself to my car, and stayed awake long enough to type this. Hellraver gave Steve and I props for dancing out front a lot. You know, even though his spinning is improving, he could still not knock the low attendance. Suck it up, yo. But hey, he gave me a little pat on the arm as we passed each other on the stairs, so he at least recognizes those of us who dance when he spins. And I wasn't even a cute girl!

* Don't get me wrong, I bear no will towards people. I just like to poke fun now and again. Because I love you all. Witness my happiness. Hey, there's only a trace of sarcasm there. A dash, if you will.

Funk this!

Maybe it's the really good memories associated with first hearing it.
Or that the music is just so damn good.
But this Deep Sky CD "In silico" makes me want to run from my office, out into the common, and start dancing. It's amazing.
