Catching up.

Wednesday was another no-show for most of PiHaus. Shocking! I did run into a number of other people including my new neighbor Lena. The evening started out with a very weak set in the front room, all depeche-mode style synthpop, which is Ok but not enough to inspire me to dance. I did see Steve and Amber there (two new additions to the Van Helsing gaming group) it was a nice surprise, especially seeing Amber there. She's a very energetic, contact - friendly person.

Then the dancing in earnest, and I ended up doing more than I thought. Brad played a number of songs that were new to me, but I forgot to get their names. He also played some new Assemblage 23, which I leapt around to even as most others cleared the floor. For all that I was shy or self-conscious, being the sole dancer at a club has never bothered me for as long as I've been clubbing. I was commonly the first person to start dancing at the Vault, sometimes it would take 2-3 songs before someone else finally took timid steps onto the floor.

It must be the performance aspect. Playing saxophone solos, acting, singing, being in front of an audience. It all prepares you for being in front of an audience. Or maybe it's the love of music, the raptuous effect a song has to pull you on the dance floor and possess you, take you over compeletey from song to song until you drag youself to a seat and wait for you heart to slow down, to slowly come back to your body which is waiting to exact the price for your rapture.
