The servers are very busy, so we'll see if this makes it to the page.
I've been pretty busy this weekend. I painted a fair bit on Saturday and Sunday, picked up some more supplies, and got myself in trouble at Mike's place. We battled using two soon to be released armies, and I got my tail handed to me quite nicely. While unwinding afterwards watching the XFL, I picked through his "bits box" a collection of leftover and unused figures he had accumulated over the years. He had the core of a High Elf army in there, and I'm sorely tempted to pick it up from him. It would be very cheap too... and I haven't finished what I already own, to say nothing of the new Tyranid army which looks VERY cool. I have a habit of championing armies that are hard to win with, and I think the Tyranids fall into that category. The High Elves might too, but I think they will do just fine. Will my bank account, that's the real question. Well, better to get them now before I start dating and need my free time for other interests. :)
I went to Whitney's party on Saturday night. It was odd, in the sense that she is leaving the space soon, on not so good terms with her roommates and landlord. As I wandered from room to room, I saw several spaces with DO NOT ENTER! in various juvenille messages on several doors. God forbid anyone should wander into the wrong room by mistake... I feel for her. She's rubbed a few people the wrong way, and once you do that with a group it takes a lot of work to set things right. I think she'll do OK, in time.
Today I went to the Aquarium, courtesy of Jessica and Tim. Fred, Xine, Nick, Jason, and Jenna also made it, and we split up to wander in the darkened interior, the scent of salt and penguin heavy in the air. There's so much to see there, you could stand in front of one tank for hours, which we did, looking at a coral reef and it's many inhabitants. It's so beautiful and peaceful there. Fred, Tim, Jess and I made our way to the top of their main tank, and watche the fish and sharks swim around, all of us silent. Occasionally a turtle would break the surface or a fish would lash it's tail, breaking us out of our reveries.
I did a little more painting and assembling when I got home. I could have gone to Reverie, but I wanted to get some more painting done. I have a lot to do, and I'm torn between getting it out of the way so I can go out, and spending the time on it to make it all look great. I probably don't need to collect any more, but I like painting and playing them. I listened to people talk about paintballing all day; they were very passionate about it. The same way that I am passionate about Warhammer. I've been far too defensive and ashamed of my gaming hobby. It brings me happiness, and in the end that 's all that matters.
I think I'll say a few more things to Krista on ICQ, and then get to bed. I'm going to bring somethings to paint during my lunch hour, which should help get some of the backlog out of the way.

You went where?

Oh, thank heaven. I thought for a second you meant Aquarium, that wretched blight on the face of Davis Square.
Isn't the Aquarium lovely? It's one of my favorite places to go on excursions. My mom and I actually have a tradition of going every once and a while. Both of us can just stand there staring at a fishtank for hours going "oh, wow...wow..."
Re: You went where?
I didn't get to spend too much time on the second level this time around. I watched the penguins, some of the coral reef tanks, and the main tank in the center. I love the turtles, they are my favorite inhabitants of the big tank. The eels come in second.
Next time back I want to tour the second level again, maybe borrow my roommates camera and take a few pictures. It is so theraputic there, so calming and engrossing at the same time.
