You techies will find this enormously funny.
Last night I had a strange dream (no, really?) I was working, or barely working for some sort of paranomal elimination company. It started out as a total deadbeat, dead end job, the kind where getting there 2 minutes late gets you a written warning, everything is in black and white and grey, and all the employees eat the same slop from the company kitchen every day.
Things got tricker when a door wouldn't close, and people thought it was haunted. I put my hands on the door and focused my will, demanding that the thing inside would come out. I felt something in my hands and tugged, and out this amorphous shape came. It quickly resolved itself into some kind of network cabling which whipped about on it's own accord. I stored the cable properly (some combination of the Ghostbusters tank and a router), and the next thing I know I'm being promoted.
There were several other snippets in my dream along those lines. I didn't know what I was doing, but in the end I had the innate skill, insight, or blind luck to resolve the issues I was working on and collect my check.
I thought it was pretty damn cool. I think there's a lesson there. Be sure to have the proper ethernet cable when dealing with ghosts.
Ether? Net? Catching ghosts?
God, I'm funny.
