The Fury

I suppose I'm fortunate I didn't blow up the house this morning.

This morning too too long. Showering in the morning is a sure fire way of being late. Getting your laundry out of the machine where you leftit overnight is another ticket to lateness. You waste a few more minutes looking for gym shorts, so now you're a few minutes later AND you can't work out. Spend some more time looking for an umbrella, then a wearing long coat, then discarding one that was ripped and is now useless and pack and extra shit and finally, FINALLY, walk out into the rain, scowl firmly set in place and run to catch the bus which gains you a few precious minutes.

The arrive at work finally, only ten minutes behind schedule. To find no calls waiting for you, and both of your managers out of the office. Brew a cup of tea. Throw some Gridlock on the mp3 player. Shed your foul mood, drown it in warm tea and soothing music. And let your day begin.

Weird. The only way I can motivate in the morning is if my first stop after pounding the alarm is to hit the shower.

I can get a similar effect to that by splashing wtaer on my face and wetting my hair. I prefer evening showers for washing all the sweat of the day away, and they are very calming.

i find that having a cat attack and bite my feet really gets me moving in the morning. better than coffee.
