How hard can it be to write in here? I mean, really?
Writing once a week should be an easily managed goal. Let's get this NYE resolution started early.
Thanksgiving was very nice this year. All the cooking went smoothly, except for lacking gravy. Sara showed me how it was done after the fact, and with some practice I can handle the gravy duties next year. The dinner crowd was maybe a tiny bit smaller, but lots of people stopped by afterward for punch and pie. I though the most surrel moment of the party was when David showed up with a girl dressed as a dinosaur (think full on one piece pajamas). Of course, Michael had to try the costume on, because Michael. That did lead to an fun monster kaiju photo session in the kitchen after I had donned my fuzzy pants. But no, even that was not the most surreal moment.
That moment came when Jess wandered into the kitchen as I was doing dishes and said: "There is a girl in your office who is squealing with delight over your miniatures collection." I told Jess April Fool's wasn't for another five months. She took my arm and dragged me to the office, and there she was: the girl formerly wearing the dinosaur costume was making those happy squealing noises that most women reserver for pictures of kittens or corgis. David told me "I think my girlfriend wants to have sex with you now."
The rest of the weekend was spent devouring episodes of Lost Girl on Netflix. It's a very entertaining series. Some might call it trashy, but I prefer not to use negative descriptors for things that I like. I really like their take on the Fae, it appeals to me so much more than Changeling ever could. The episodes are occasionally clunky, and they are in more dire need of a fight choreographer than Agents of SHIELD (ie, they desperately need it), but it's still pretty and interesting and occasionally laugh out loud funny. Time to track down...
