It can happen to anyone.

Our network administrator keeps a copy of the latest backup tapes on a shelf above his keyboard. While working on his mail file in Lotus Notes, the tape falls on his keyboard, hitting the delete and enter key. He ends up deleting all of his Notes e-mail information.
By complete accident.

What are the odds?

That's TOO funny...

Lesson: Keep everything away from your keyboard, fucktard.

that's fantastic. did he have a backup of the data on the tape? it was probably the one thing he didn't back up.

I think the real lesson is that Notes is a pretty sucky mail/organizational interface.

I have been struggling to make the software work for me, rather than adapting my workstyle to suit the software, over the past few months...but have given up. At this point I'd rather use PINE than that POC, cuz all I use it for now is for reading email anyway.

Not that I am the biggest MS fan, but I think Outlook is a far superior product...at least it is more functional for me and my management style. I was actually thinking today that I like the fact that when I delete something in Outlook, that it goes to a "deleted" folder that I can access at a later date or choose to truly delete it when I do housekeeping...rather than Notes' method of blasting an item into oblivion as soon as it is deleted. How many times have you deleted an item only to realize later that you really need it?

I could rant for an hour about the reasons I hate Notes, but I won't bore you....
