delayed deterioration.
It's the end of the day and I'm exhausted. Something about Monday is always horrible. It wasn't the DST issues. They were few and far between and pretty easy to fix by running a few patches. It's the constant bad sleep. Practically every Sunday night I have nightmares and don't sleep well. A lot happened this weekend, all of it good or necessary. You can probably guess some of the things that I did, but here are some deviations from the norm.
A great action movie for visuals, sounds, and choreography. Borderline offensive in other places. The movie equated the Persians with being freaks and deviants, while the Spartans were the defenders of democracy and equal rights. The reality was that the Spartans had plenty of warts and flaws in their way of life. Still, this is really just an action movied about a big fight at the Hot Gates, and that's where the movie's most effective. Women weren't shown as much better: Queen Gorgo got to talk tough, but she had no power when it came to the Senate, and the only coin she had to pay Theron was her body? Ugh.
Black Magic was a good time: interesting venue, good music, new faces, overpriced drinks (or rather undersized for the price). I'm looking forward to checking it out again.
Tomorrow I have to be into work early for a projector setup, so no Ceremony for me tonight. Alas. Time for more poi!
