Status report : green/yellow

I saw my doctor yesterday.  He ruled out sinus infections or migraines as a cause of my headaches.  He said they were "adjustment" related, espeically after I rattled off the laundry list of issues that had or were stressing me out lately.  I'm to take 1000 mg of tylenol 3/day for 2 weeks.  If there is still pain, he will schedule a MRI.

There is a little pain today, but less than before.  Work was also much less stressful today, and I have a nice lunch with a friend.

Tonight I begin to address the stressful issues and figure out a plan.  I have a feeling that I will be social this weekend after all.  We'll have to see how things go.

Your headache sounds just like the stress headache I had for over three weeks running in October. Strong meds helped, but calming the fuck down was what finally made it go away (though that's easier said than done when constant pain is one of the things giving you stress). One of the meds they gave me was for anxiety/muscle-relaxing. ;) Your last bit there sounds like you're on the right track; good luck and happy thoughts your way.

Addendum?

take 1000 mg of tylenol 3/day for 2 weeks ...
And hopefully he cautioned against drinking much alcohol while taking such dosages :? Keep your liver happy :)

Hang in there

I'm glad to hear that the doctor doesn't think it's brain cancer or alien rays or anything like that.

I've been meaning to write but have been too wiped out from everything myself--good luck with the planning, and I hope we see you out somewhere this weekend...

Glad to hear the headache has lessened today and there seems to be a working plan to get rid of them entirely.
It'll be good to see you out and about again; it's just not a rockstar weekend with out you.

;P

I'm glad to see comments turned back on, yay! I've been thinking about you, dude. And, for what it's worth, my twice-weekly migrains went away completely when I had PRK. Of course, that's only a solution if your vision sucks ass like mine did.

But really - headaches are awful. I commisserate. *hug*

I know people say it all the time, but the gym is SO good for relieving stress! I'm not sure I have the same stress as you do, but coming from one that feels as if her job could catapult her into the hospital any day with a heart attack I'd recommend forcing yourself to the gym. I always feel SO much better afterwards..

I'm out of town this weekend, but I'm sure I'll see you soon! :)

seems to me like they're tension headaches. i'm less impressed with the tylenol prescription as they're not necessarily going to solve the problem, more like a band aid solution. i will be more than happy to give you some headache remedies that involve relaxation and conscious muscle tension relaxation if you wish.
