Pay Attention

Friday was filled with pirate goodness.  It was hot like the tropics, as sinful as Tortuga, and the rum flowed freely.

There were no zombies for me on Saturday, but I did witness the end of Heroes at Toast.  It made me very happy to hear "Holiday in Cambodia" as one of the closing songs.  After I was finished singing and dancing to it, a guy shook my hand and said "you were the only one here who knew all the words."

Sunday Sara and I dove to Medway.  It's quite a scenic drive, lots of budding trees reaching up to the sky, fresh air w/out any hint of cow.  Burgers were grilled, frisbees were thrown (and sometimes caught), and an interesting mix of people attended.  I also learned that part of spring means colder nights still.  Tank tops won't quite cut it.
I also had a long talk with my Mom.  My sister's are going through a very rough patch right now (between a broken engagement and kids having brush in's with the law), and she asked me if I was happy.  The question threw me for a minute, but I told her I was.  Anything I'm lacking right now isn't preventing me from enjoying the rest of my life.  A friend just noted that she doesn't have much to say when she is in a good mood.  In a similar vein, I don't think a lot of people pay attention when they're experiencing a good state.  If things are good you just keep doing what you are doing.  You don't think and ponder, you just Do.  Mostly, of late, I've been doing.

Monday I struggled at poi a bit, but I think i'm getting the hang of reels.  I should be able to do some interesting things building off of that.  I followed up with a Ceremony visit, that started slow and quickly picked up speed.  I'm starting to enjoy myself there a lot more lately, and that's a good thing.

Tonight, there will be zombies.
