Upon further examination...

My weekend turned out just fine.

Friday night I stopped at Le's in Harvard Sq. for some tasty soup to help with my cold.  I glanced up from the steaming bowl of seafood soup and saw Mrzero standing at the doorway, Atalanta just behind him!!  I got to hang out with them later in the weekend, grabbing some ciders and catching up on television shows and the craziness that is bird watching.

Saturday's poi workshop was full of people.  Ikon is a very young kid (giving Ayun a run for her money in the 4th grader dept) but is astoundingly good with poi.  The workshop covered a number of things: groundwork, working in tandem, aerial work (jumps), and several other advanced spinning techniques.  I felt I could hold my own on the jumps, and spent a lot time watching the rest of the veterans do their thing.  That was a theme that repeated itself at the actual burning that occured later that night.  I just watched, a little bit intimidated and a lot more wiped out from my cold.  I ended the night on Saturday driving back to Toast, grabbing a few drinks and booty shakes and some very nice compliments.  Thank you *winks*

Sunday Sunday Sunday!  I broke some of the painting ennui I was grappling with, then heading out to DND.  Lots of action, lots of not-dying (though I thought our captain was a goner for sure!)  I raced from there to a sumptuous dinner party.  A delicious five cheese lasagna left me too full to try the garlic bread, but there was room for ceaser salad and a silky smooth banana cream pie.  Also there were more Lamb videos that you can shake a stick at, and a marching band video that looked like NOTHING I've ever taken part in.  Dammit.

There was home, and exhaustion, and feeling pretty ill (still!) this morning.  Another big work project is done though, and I have some DVD's and music from Amazon sitting on my desk next to me.  Please to be getting healthy before Thursday, thank you very much!
