Two for one special

I prefer my nightmares surreal and detached from reality: zombie apocalypses, insect infestation, something that clearly can't happen.  I also like them limited to one per evening, regardless of how many times I wake up again.  You can understand my dispeasure then, at having two nightmares set at the club I was at last night.

In the first I got into my car sober, and became outrageously drunk as I turned the corner.  I bounced off two cars, before letting go of the wheel and slamming up a banked lawn into a house.  Sitting there in my wrecked car, I was filled with doom.  Then the people came up and screamed at me: I had hurt their baby, he was sitting in the window when I hit there car, where's my license and registration and personal information.  I handed it all over to them numbly.  The worst had already happened.

It took a good three minutes of lying in bed, staring at my ceiling, before I realized it was all a dream.  Back to bed, back to the same club, back to seeing all my friends standing around, being So In Love, and having a wonderful time.  Now, that should have tipped me off right there that I was dreaming, because I know that everything is hunky dory with everyone I know, but having no control over things is part of what makes it a nightmare.  For most people, that shouldn't even be a nightmare.

I'll be back in a bit, I need to give my brain a good scrubbing.
