Sangria fueled and soul calibered
Another Labor Day has come and gone, along with another end of summer cookout. One look at the floor the next morning, with it's muddy stains anywhere, was enough to remind me of the merriment and joy of the day before. I was extra thankful this Labor Day, because I was once again part of the labor force. Even though things aren't nailed down at the new job yet, I'll pass on my job karma to anyone who needs it.
My decision to make extra sangria was a wise one, as the pitches never ran out during the day. The delicious food just kept coming, hour after hour. As the day wore on, people slowly made their way out to sleep off the day's eating. I decided to dance my dinner off, and in that I was quite successful. A handful of other guests apparently had the same idea as I did, so the merry-making continued on well into the night.
A day of lethargy and low lidded eyes at work is manageable payment for a night's revelry. The nights of late have been more enjoyable than in the past, and I'd like to see them continue in that fashion.
