The weekend

Saturday I learned about auto maintenance, and picked up most of the necessary components to change my oil, and air filter. The air was as easy to change as the oil was difficult. Which means the air filter was a breeze, and the oil change a nightmare. Getting on the blocks was tricky. Then I didn't have the right tools to remove the bolt w/out stripping it. Drove over to Silentq's house, grabbed her tools, heaved and hauled and twisted and loosened and burnt my hands and hauled at odd angles and at LAST the oil flows out into the pan. Mostly. Adding the new filter and oil was very easy, and at last all is done. I now have a better understanding on my engine, the skills to do some of my own basic maintenance, and very very sore hands. Kudos to Silentq for her patience and knowledge!

Saturday night I attended a party thrown by J&C. The house was splendid, as were the drinks. As the evening progressed, more and more people showed up who clearly didn't belong there. I didn't make any comments, as I well know that our friends know people from every walk of life. As time goes on, it became apparant that no one knew who these folks were. Apparantly there were several parties going on in their neigborhood, and folks just crashed from house to house. Tensions grew as the evening progressed and police cruisers drove by. My carload of partygoes and I left around 3:30, our spirits still high. I feel bad for our hosts though.

Sunday I was tired tired tired, but managed the energy to help Eeyrg and Crystain move some of their belonging to their new house. It's very peaceful out there. The yard is large and ringed with trees. If you like down in the grass in the right spot, you can have a frame of foliage as you look up into the pale pale blue sky. The hot tub is also a highly appealing factor. Ahh hot tubs and the memories asoociated with them.
By some miracle of motivation, I manged to get a load of laundry finished and clean the house before my roommate returned.

Now it is Monday. I've staggered through a lot of work so far today, on less of a lunch than I'd like. But I have the return of my exercise regieme, and tastefully prepared fish on rice, and dancing with old and new friends in my future. The perfect lure to pull me through the day.
