Moving at the speed of glaciers

That's what this day feels like anyhow. I started with nothing immediate to do, so I started upgrading computers for people. I'm working on computer #3 right now. I finished Cryptonomicon last week, and haven't picked up a new book yet. I also have a Progeny laptop I could be playing around with, looking at how Linux operates. Usually when I'm bored I'll work on gaming stuff or play freecell, but that's not mentally stimulating.

I will blearily acknowledge that many people wish they could do as little at their job. Help Desk has it's own perks and headaches, one of the perks is getting to have downtime while you are waiting for something to go wrong.

I would enjoy it more if my entire body didn't feel like a block of amber. Every moment is slow and drawn out, even my thoughts are creeping.

Whew... one hour and twenty minutes to goooo......

PM blues.....

Downtime is one of those things that really annoys me. Being a Project Manager, you try and plan for them, however, there just seems to be a lot of sitting around waiting for new projects lately and not alot of mental stimulation. I do advise you to check out www.webmonkey.com and look for the procrastination page. It's chock full of mental stimuli just for people like us...with too much time today.

I'll probably bring a few things in from home to work on for the rest of the week, but I think I'll take a peek at webmonkey and see what's cooking over there... thanks!

course you could be super lame like me and sit and read the CCDA training manual. If you alternate between reading that and your friends journals, I can guarantee that you'll be soaking up all that spare time.... :-)

I've been reading through a little more often lately, but my brain's processing at about 66 mhz today. Once I get some downtime in tonight I should be back up to speed, and can maybe make some more coherent thoughts. And comments! :)
